About us

Empowering communities through unique housing solutions.

The C.A.L.I. Project, short for Caring About Living Individuals, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Pinellas County. We pair affordable housing with the support people need to stay housed and thrive.

Why we exist

Our mission, goal and vision

Mission

Provide affordable housing to low-income individuals and equip them with the resources, skills and confidence to build independent, financially secure and successful futures.

Goal

Reach vulnerable individuals across Tampa Bay and help each one move from crisis to lasting stability.

Vision

A safe, quality and affordable housing option for everyone, meeting the local housing need and stabilizing our community.

Why this works

Housing First means a home comes before everything else.

A person's first and most basic need is stable housing. Once that is in place, it becomes possible to work on health, education, employment and recovery.

Our supportive services follow housing and cover physical and mental health, education, employment, substance use and community connection. We work through a network of partners in healthcare, education, family services, employment and social welfare.
